What is your photographic style?
1
My photography style is: candid, aspirational and evocative.
I think the best shots are the ones where you aren't looking directly at the camera. I prefer a reportage photographic style where you're relaxed and in a moment. I am subtle and non-intrusive. It is so important that people don’t feel uncomfortable.
However, I think a few photos, which are a bit more choreographed, are important too.
Often celebrities who had made a deal with OK! would worry that the photographer might dominate their day. Approaching me at the end of the day, they would be so relieved and surprised that I was discreet and respectful.
Will I be able to relax and enjoy the day?

My many years as an editorial photographer are invaluable. This is where my experience photographing celebrities, who rely on their public image, is crucial. On your wedding day, you will want to look immaculate. The best version of yourself. Perfect make-up and organised hair. I will be that extra set of eyes which will ensure that you are flawless. Making sure you look as good at the end of your extraordinary day, as you did when you began your captivating walk to your ceremony. If your hair has started to slip out of place, I will help to get it sorted. If you need colour on your lips, I will find your lipstick. I want you to look immaculate and I will notice all of these things. When I photographed celebrities for OK! Magazine I was hyper-vigilant about a person's image. I will be watching and looking out for these details, so you feel confident and don't need to worry.
It is a huge responsibility to photograph a wedding or event. I relish the challenge of telling the story from early morning to late evening.
How do you get all the photos I want ?

It is very helpful if I have a list of all the important shots you require. This can be photos of your close and extended family, but also your friends, colleagues and special people who have made a huge effort to be at your wedding day. This helps me, and I don’t have to rely on you to remember groups. I can work down the list and you don’t have to worry about who has had a photo.
I would say that the longer the list, the fewer documentary photos I can capture during your reception. Maybe 6 - 8 group shots are a good number so I can return to taking those lovely ‘fly on the wall’ shots. Lots of wedding couples mention how much they love these photos because they were unaware that they were being shot. I think it’s important to try to capture the essence of the day I think this happens when I blend in.

5 Working with Event Planners
Please can I also have a list of all the suppliers who have participated in your Big Day. Instagram is a major part of the wedding industry and all my photographs must credit any suppliers I have worked with. It would be so helpful if I have a list of everyone, from your cake designer to your hair and make-up person.
If you would prefer if your images were not used on IG, please let me know. Not everyone is comfortable with social media.
I thrive when working as part of the finest teams from weddings, and events to fashion and editorial. This is especially important when working with the leading wedding planners to achieve excellence for their clientele.
My experience over 25 years has led me to work with top planners and designers, creative directors to magazine editors. I understand how my work fits into the symphony when delivering bespoke events.
A busy planner needs a photographer who will get on with the job and who understands the clientele and the brief, whilst requiring minimal direction. It is of course a given that I will capture all the required shots from set-up to venue dressing, to heirloom images of the couple to treasure for a lifetime. And yet I go further using my editorial experience to identify and secure the iconic shot that could grace the front cover of any magazine from Harpers Bizarre to Vogue.
Retouching Images with Photoshop
Yes, of course. I always edit photos where appropriate. Everyone wants to look the best version of themselves. I will use it subtly and it will be undetectable on the whole.
Will You Direct Me?
I will guide you so you don’t feel silly and awkward. I will try my best to help you feel relaxed. I will try to make it painless and fast. The day will go by in a blur and time will fly. I will be trying my hardest to document everything. The last thing I will do is use up your time being slow and tedious. I work fast and will have a plan so the photos don’t dominate and you can enjoy your day.
Meeting Before the Big Day.
I try to meet all my couples at their wedding venue before the day so we can talk about your plans and work through your worries. We can walk through the day and discuss where would be best to take photos. It’s great to try to get to know each other a little before your wedding. This helps with the nerves.
