London Wedding Photographer - A Wedding at Clissold Park, North London

The best weddings are relaxed weddings. North London was scorching hot. The bridal preparations were taking place at Rachel and Andrew's flat in Canonbury, North London. It was spacious and full of natural light — the perfect setting for a calm morning, with plenty of room for everyone to get ready without feeling on top of each other.

When it was time to leave, Rachel hailed a London taxi to Clissold House and walked up to the venue, confident and smiling. She looked fabulous in her Caroline Takvorian dress.

Andrew was waiting in the ceremony room, chatting with guests. There was a real sense of anticipation in the air — the room full of warmth, excitement, and happiness for what was about to unfold.

Vibrant, exotic flowers decorated the mantelpiece in the ceremony room. They were magnificent — dramatic yet beautifully simple, arranged in eight vases of varying sizes and shapes. They brought a striking splash of colour to a classic, natural space.

Drinks were served outside in the summer sun of Clissold Park. When it was time for the wedding breakfast, guests strolled over together, while the bride and groom took a taxi to Primeur in North London — their favourite London restaurant, and the place where they had their first date.

Long trestle tables were dressed with chunky yellow water jugs and flowers. The restaurant itself was intimate, creating a wonderfully informal setting where guests perched on bar stools and tucked into booths, giving the space a lively, convivial energy.

Everyone was completely at ease. There was laughter, conversation, and a constant flow of good wishes. It felt effortless, natural, and full of joy.

Later, the wedding party returned to Clissold House, where guests strolled back through the park to be greeted with cocktails and cake. The DJ set the tone as the evening unfolded into dancing and celebration.

The atmosphere remained relaxed throughout. Nobody was stressed or flapping — just present, happy, and fully immersed in the day. As a London wedding photographer, I genuinely love photographing weddings like this; while they share the same relaxed spirit as a Hampshire wedding, they bring their own unique energy and creative challenges. From fast-paced logistics to ever-changing city light and movement, London weddings require a different kind of awareness — one I really enjoy working with.

It was, quite simply, a beautiful summer London wedding.
